Nathan D. Meyer
SHAREHOLDER
Nathan Meyer is a litigator whose diverse practice
encompasses commercial, tort liability, professional liability, insurance bad
faith, insurance coverage, and government entity litigation.
Nate has earned Martindale-Hubbell's "Preeminent
AV®"
peer review rating, the highest attorney rating awarded by that publication.
Nate has achieved excellent results for his
clients through creative arguments. As an example, he recently litigated and
settled a quadriplegia claim against a global corporation with alleged clear
liability for less than plaintiff’s estimate of future medical expenses and
less than a third of plaintiff’s mediation demand. Nate achieved this
favorable result by creating a scope of employment issue and arguing that the
plaintiff assumed the risk of his catastrophic spinal injury by failing to wear
a neck protector used by motocross riders.
He also recently obtained summary judgment in a
legal malpractice matter by creatively arguing that the plaintiff lacked
standing and that the legal malpractice claim became the property of the
plaintiff’s bankruptcy estate after the plaintiff filed a bankruptcy petition
that fraudulently failed to disclose the claim.
Nate represents a variety of clients: lawyers,
insurance agents and real estate agents in professional liability cases;
insureds in tort liability cases; a general contractor, a subsequent purchaser
of a commercial property, and a home/business owner in commercial litigation
cases; insurers in declaratory judgment actions and bad faith litigation; a
medical device manufacturer in product liability litigation; a nursing home in a
wrongful death case; and government entities in religious discrimination and
abuse of process cases.
