Lisa S. Wahlin
SHAREHOLDER
Lisa Wahlin’s practice focuses on advising and defending
government entities in a variety of legal areas. Her
experience includes both private law practice and more than ten
years of public service as a government lawyer. Ms. Wahlin has
been trying cases for 19 years and has tried more than 50
criminal and civil jury cases to a jury verdict.
In the course of her practice, Ms. Wahlin has served as counsel
for various state and local government entities and has defended
government liability cases in both state and federal court. She
has litigated cases involving wrongful death and catastrophic
injury, road design and maintenance issues, medical malpractice,
and Americans with Disabilities Act claims.
While working with government entities, Ms. Wahlin developed
special expertise in defending law enforcement personnel. This
expertise includes handling claims of excessive force and
unlawful arrest, prisoners’ rights claims, and other civil
rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Wahlin has served
as a legal advisor to law enforcement agencies in a variety of
areas, including policy development, racial profiling, and
disciplinary and employment matters. She also has aided various
government entities in responding to public records requests and
defended special actions related to those requests.
Ms. Wahlin’s practice also includes insurance defense, with an emphasis on cases involving negligence,
wrongful death and personal injury, and defamation.
